Everard Read Franschhoek is proud to present a new exhibition by Guy du Toit entitled Hare and Now.

The hare has many names in folktales and mythology – in parts of Africa he is Kalulu; Tepoztēcal in Mexico; Br'er Rabbit (and Bugs Bunny) in America; The Hare of Inaba in Japan; and Freya’s hare in Norse mythology but in all the tales he is a trickster. He is the cocky hero of a hundred and one stories, the hustler, the dealer, the fast-talking nemesis of all who get in his way, and always he is Mr Cool personified.

But even he has to occasionally step back, relax and contemplate life and in this wonderful exhibition Guy du Toit shows us the quiet and meditative side of a character he has made uniquely his own.
