BIOGRAPHY
KAREN ELKINGTON
Karen Elkington studied fine art at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, and graduated with distinction in 2021. She is primarily a painter who combines the figurative and abstract to create thought provoking slightly otherworldly scenes reflecting current issues. She has created a number of conceptual installations which explore the themes in her paintings. To date she has had three solo exhibitions, been part of numerous group shows, exhibited at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair and curated a group exhibition based on her dissertation study. She lives and works in Kommetjie on the Cape Peninsular.
