In Disturbance, I explore the push and pull between structure and chaos, but also the inner disturbances that have shaped my growth as an artist. As I navigate adulthood, memories from my youth continually surface, disrupting my thoughts and creative process. These recollections stir a conflict within me—between the desire for control and the inevitable pull of disorder.

This new series reflects that tension. Sharp geometries collide and overlap, mirroring the fractured nature of memory and the dissonance I feel between past and present. Vibrant colours and dark backgrounds clash like the turbulence of thought, creating a dynamic visual disturbance. Each piece becomes a balancing act, where clarity dissolves into complexity.

This new body of work marks a shift within my practice: where personal disturbance fuels creative growth, and tension drives both the process and the outcome. – Andrzej Urbanski, 2024
