This exhibition of stylised male figures in the Mannerist Tradition (by way of the Romantics and the Aesthetic Movement) is superb. The paintings are both erotic and serene and a gentle, almost melancholic air pervades them all. His subjects are self-contained but aware of their allure within their glowing settings that are so meticulously rendered.
